Registration of the Foundation:

The Foundation “Stichting REDCAPA Internationaal” was registered in the Netherlands on December 17th, 2004 under KvK-number 28103487. The official constitution at the notary public can be seen here. Its fiscal number is 8138 15 411. The Foundation’s secretariat is based at Groenhoevelaan 13, 2343 BP, Oegstgeest, the Netherlands.

Objectives

REDCAPA aims at 1) improving the socio-economic position of the rural population of developing countries while protecting the environment and making sustainable use of natural resources and 2) contributes to the reversal of climate change by supporting ecological projects including those that capture CO2.

The official plan approved by the Board for 2020 …

… is to continue the support of the existing clinic at Issah Krom in Sekyere Afram Plains, Ghana and to support ecological projects including the planting of trees to capture CO2.

Board of Directors:

The members of the Board are:

  • President: Prof. Dr. Roberto Iván Escalante Semerena (14-08-1951, Mérida, Mexico) of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México
  • Secretary: Dr. Edelmira Pérez Correa (18-04-1942, Angostura, Colombia), professor emeritus of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana
  • Treasurer: Prof. Dr. Renato Sérgio Jamil Maluf (28-09-1952, Piracicaba, Sao Paulo, Brasil) of the Universidade Federal Rural de Rio de Janeiro
  • Member: Prof. Dr. Luis Fernando Fernández Alvarado (12-02-1955, Palmares, Alajuela, Costa Rica) of the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica
  • Member: Prof. Dr. Waldemar Fernando Curi (28-07-1963, Lima, Peru) of the Universidad Nacional Agraria ‘La Molina’

 

Executive Director:

 

  • Drs. Wessel Eijkman (11-02-1957, Apeldoorn, Netherlands) is the executive International Director of the Stichting. The director is not a member of the Board and is accountable to the Board but has the full authority to act on behalf of the Stichting

 

Preparation and approval of accounts/ remuneration:

The charity’s annual accounts are prepared by its executive director and treasurer and approved by the Board. The annual reports are composed, audited and approved by Dutch register accountants www.BroekAccountants.nl and are available for scrutiny. From 2011 onwards, there has not been and will not be any remuneration for tasks executed in the context of REDCAPA while compensations for travel and daily subsistence allowances are kept to an absolute minimum. There are no overhead costs. The executive director’s travel to Africa and South America in order to boost the Foundation’s projects and some secretarial costs are also supported by www.MANGOConsult.nl . Any other costs are absorbed by the collaborators themselves.

To support the REDCAPA projects, you can make a donation to account number NL 39 INGB 000 290 41 77 of ING Bank in the name of Stichting REDCAPA Internationaal. If you wish, you can specify the project you would like to contribute to and we will let you know exactly what your contribution has been spent on.

REDCAPA has the ANBI charitable status (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling), which means that your donation is conditionally tax deductible in the Netherlands.
